9/24/2008 - Unsolved Homicide-Tommie Joe Turner

 On October 15, 1979 Tommie Joe Turner was found slumped over in the driver’s seat of his car at the Diamond Club on Pearl Street.  Investigators discovered the victim had been shot once in the head with a large caliber weapon.

 

 


9/17/2008 - Trailer Theft

Sometime around Sept 12, unknown person took a gray 12 foot Haulmark trailer from a fenced & locked job location in the 5200 blk of West University.  The trailer has a large Planet Construction logo on both sides. The trailer is valued at about $3000.00 and it had approx. $2000.00 worth of tools inside of it.


9/10/2008 - Criminal Mischief-ECISD

Sometime between August 15 and August 18 unknown persons entered the property of the Clark Bldg located in the 800 blk of N. Sam Houston. This building is the property of ECISD and was housing used police vehicles that were being prepared for auction. The suspects broke out the windows of eight of the vehicles and managed to ram one vehicle into another one. Damage to these vehicles exceeds several thousand dollars.

 

 


9/3/2008 - Assault at Comanche Trails

On August 28, 2008, at approximately 8:20 p.m., a woman was assaulted while she was running for exercise at “Comanche Trail Park” located in the 1200 block of East Monahans. While in the park, she was grabbed from behind by the suspect and taken to the ground. The victim fought with the suspect and screamed for help. The suspect eventually ran from the scene.

 

The victim was transported to Medical Center Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries obtained during the scuffle.

 

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 18-20 years of age, 5’07”-5’11’’ in height. The suspect has dark eyes with a medium complexion and was last seen wearing a black muscle shirt, long baggy shorts, sandals and a baseball cap.

 


8/6/2008 - Hit & Run

On July 20th at about 3:00 in the morning a young man on a 2007 Honda motorcycle was traveling eastbound in the inside lane on Hwy 191. A vehicle approached him at a high rate of speed. As the motorcyclist was attempting to move into the outside lane the vehicle sped past him striking the motorcycle. The victim was treated & released from Medical Center Hospital.Witnesses state  the vehicle was a white Ford F-250. This vehicle should have some damage on the passenger side of the vehicle.
