Bob Sewell, Jr. (1984/06/01)

Bob Sewell, Jr. would have been 42 years old this year, but in June of 1984 someone decided his life would end on an oilfield road in western Ector County. His body was found about five miles from where he lived in the 12000 blk of Citation. He died from multiple gunshot wounds and  appeared to have been beaten.

ALvin Brooks Johnson (1982/08/04)

On August 4, 1982 investigators discovered the body of 45 year old Alvin Brooks Johnson in a field of Murphy street.  He died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Carmen Croan (1981/08/23)

It has been over 20 years since the brutal slaying of Carmen Croan.  Her body was found on August 23, 1981 on an oilfield lease 12 mile north of FM 1936 and Hwy 158..  Her throat had been cut. She was only 18 years old. Investigators have determined that she may have last been seen in the early morning hours of August 23rd at a nightclub on 8th street.

Sue Brooks Powell (1979/12/31)

Over 20 years ago in December 1979  investigators came across a Chevrolet van parked alongside Hwy 866 about ½ mile north of University Blvd. Inside they discovered the body of Sue Brooks Powell. This mother of 5 children had been shot to death.

Tommie Joe Turner (1979/10/15)

Tommie Joe Turner was found slumped in the drivers seat of his car at the Diamond Club on Pearl Street on October 15, 1979. It appeared the victim had been shot once in the head with a large caliber weapon.

Kenton Lee Hart (1977/10/30)

The oldest unsolved murder on the books for the Odessa Police Dept. happened on October 30, 1977. Kenton Lee Hart was found lying in a pool of blood at Bo Weevils Restaurant on east 8th street. The victim had been shot one time in the chest with what appeared to be a small caliber weapon. At the time he was 25 years old.

Kenneth Alford (1975/01/09)

Kenneth Alford was last seen on January 9, 1975 at about 5:30 p.m. leaving Denver City in route to Odessa . He was driving a 1974 white over red Ford F-150 pick up with a white camper shell which belonged to his employer Miester Plastics. A few days later on January 15th the truck was found in the parking lot of the Inn of the Golden West on 4th street. Kenneth Alford’s body was also discovered later that same day in what is now known as North Ranchito. The cause of death was determined to be a lethal blow to the head. A blood stained 4 x 6 pipe nipple was found in the 700 block of Hillmont Street which had been missing from Alfords truck and is believed to be the murder weapon.

Eula Mae Miller (1970/07/16)

The body of Eula Mae Miller also known as Kay Miller was found on July 16, 1970 in her apartment on 8th street. She had been stabbed six times.
